I really love to write…
THINGS I CALL MY BELONGINGS
Plants have begun to take over my home. Orchids and succulents, air plants and vines. I’m running out of surfaces to put them, but I’m just in love with the element of earth, and life they bring to my precious-little space in Capitol Hill.
I’M IN THE RESTORATION BUSINESS
I heard this phrase so many times growing up. My father Bill Barbee worked in construction from the time he was 14 years old. He was a natural at anything requiring his hands, and for him, this type of work was like art is for some other people.
HURT NO LIVING THING
Who remembers this precious poem from childhood? I don’t have pets (or bugs), but I swear, the words float through my head at least once a week when I see our beautiful plants growing.
